Banking

• All foreign nationals are requested to apply for their bank account in person. 
• It would be most useful if your company has an existing relationship with the bank of your choice (i.e. payroll).
• Nuisances are common since the approved work visa and ACR I-Card, and proof of residence (i.e. Contract of Lease or COL) are actually required in opening an account.

DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS:

• Your bank may require additional documentation like a reference from an existing customer OR proof of billing address 

• Once the application and documentation are submitted, your account may be ready within the day or you may be required to come back to pick up your ATM card on a later date as processing time varies from one bank to another. 

• For accounts with automated teller machine (ATM) cards, most bank cards will take 5-10 business days to arrive, regardless of the institution.
